Cruise Day #20: Day at Sea

Well, Day 20 arrived and it was our last day at sea before we would see land again.  All around the ship there were lots of people who were vocally anxious to get their feet on dry land once more....but not me and Jason.  We wanted the boat to turn around and head back to sea for another 5 (or 10 or 20) days!! LOL

Jason rounded out a series of fun "Day at Sea" magnets with this magnet depicting one of the underwater scenes from Pinnochio....this is one of my favorite magnets from this trip, I think, because it's so cute!

This day at sea started out a little differently than our other days because after a very quick stop to the rainforest room in the spa, we had to get back to our room, shower and get changed so that we could.....

...change into our pajamas!!  That's right....our pajamas!  Our group of friends from the DISBoards had decided to all have a big breakfast as a group together at one of the restaurants onboard----everyone in their pajamas!!  It was fun and made for a very fun group photo op.  Here is what Jason and I wore to breakfast that day:
(I made these pajamas for us-----I sewed the pants out of TIgger and Roo fabric that I had at home and then I painted the characters on the shirts myself with fabric paint to match the pants! *smile*)

I should have mentioned also that the weather was, remarkably, fantastic AGAIN!  Jason took a picture of the sun coming up over the horizon that morning:

After breakfast was over, we BACK to the movie theater (which we'd just been in all evening the night before)...IN our pajamas....to see a new movie that they were premiering (or actually, they were "premEARing" it as they called it LOL):  You Again.  It was a comedy/romantic comedy starring Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, and Kristen Chenowith about a girl who comes home for her brother's wedding only to find that he is engaged to the bully girl who made her life hell in high school.  We both really enjoyed the film and thought it was very cute...and a fun way to spend a morning without anything else to do.

After the movie we, begrudgingly, changed out of our pajamas and into real clothes (we were already being as lazy as was feasible...we thought spending the entire day in pajams in public would have been taking things a bit too far! LOL)

We then joined Kimberly and Johanna at the final installment of the "Desperate Shipmates" mystery where they were going to reveal who the culprit(s) were.  Three of the four of us had voted for the same character to be the guilty party (and Kimberly had, as a joke, voted for Mo---a cast member who wasn't even a part of the game LOL).  We were all (except for Kimberly) partly right...but there had apparently been 3 characters who were all in cahoots with one another and we'd only gotten the primary one right...but it was very silly and very entertaining.  Here is a picture of the full cast of the game/show at the end:
(Note:  the cruise staff, Dave, who we've mentioned several times as having been really friendly and fun on this voyage is sitting on the floor in the very center front----he played a character named "Rudy" who was a disney fanatic---even worse than me LOL---and who was in on the plot in the end!)

Once "Desperate Shipmates" was over, the four of us decided to head up on deck and play some games and hop in the pool for a bit (it was a HOT day).  We taught the girls how to play Euchre and we also played some Bananagrams (I think we got Kimberly addicted to that game! LOL)
We spent the better part of the afternoon up there playing games and relaxing in the pool until it was time to head down to our rooms, get cleaned up and get to the show and dinner.

Snow White and Dopey were on the schedule for pictures, so we wore a new set of Seven Dwarves ties:

The show this evening was another I had not seen called "Walt Disney: The Dream Goes On" and it was one part history lesson, one part memorial and one part Broadway musical----but all parts magical!  It highlighted some of the benchmarks in the history of Walt Disney's career and company including his start with "Steamboat Willie" and the opening of DisneyLand in California and some of his major animated and live action film achievements over the years.  It also included some really wonderful song and dance numbers----of particular note was a pretty elaborate dance number from Mary Poppins ("Step in Time") that featured the full cast, a really breathtaking rendition of "Go the Distance" (from the film "Hercules") sung by several of the male leads and accompanied with a contemporary dance routine by three of the incredible male dancers, and the finale which included an original song called "The Dream Goes On" (hence the title of the show) and brought the entire cast singing and dancing through the audience and all the classic characters on stage....and with the whole show ending with Mickey Mouse saying "I only hope we never lose sight of one thing---that it all started with one man's dream" (which was a play on a very famous quote by Walt himself when he once said, "I only hope we never lose sight one thing---that it all started with a mouse.")  I cried like a baby again! LOL

It was another wonderful new addition to the roster of shows that Disney Cruise Line has to offer onboard----very touching and a wonderful tribute to a body of work that has touched so many people's lives (not the least of which my own and Jason's---as Disney has always been something I adored and it has become an important part of who we are as a couple and a family).
fter dinner, the Oceaneer's Lab (kid's area) was open again to do another session of animation cell painting.  We had so enjoyed this on the Med cruise, that we went up to do it again.  Jason and I both participated, but we only took pictures of my artwork...which was a Peter Pan cell that we are going to frame and hang in Jason's office at work (he has, with the help of my mother, been collecting Peter Pan---one of his favorite characters---things to decorate his office).  Here are some pictures:

Following our time in the lab, it was getting late and we decided to just turn in for the night because we had an early excursion the next morning.  So we went back to our room, greeted by our towel animal:

...and headed to bed!!
