We're here!!

We have landed safely and have arrived at our hotel.  This is only going to be a very brief post----because we are tired and feel dirty so we want to shower and take a nap for an hour or so...but I wanted everyone to know we landed safely.

Our flight was pretty uneventful, thankfully.  Not bumpy, no glitches with connections or anything, everything was on time.  So we were definitely grateful for that.  The food on the plane wasn't bad (note:  if you're on the same Delta flight and your options for dinner are the pasta and the chicken w/ stuffing----get the pasta...it's better).  While on the plane, we watched the Disney flick "The Prince of Persia"----it was OK....way better than "Where the Wild Things Are" but not exceptional by any stretch.  Sleeping the plane SUCKED----of course (which is why we need a short nap before we head out to do a little Barcelona sight-seeing).   All in all, we're happy and grateful and excited to be here!

Disney has put us up at the Hilton Diagonal Mar here in Barcelona which our driver told us is one of the newer/nicer hotels in the city.....and it's obvious.  This place is really beautiful.  Here's a few quick pics we took as we were entering the room:

The Bedroom area
The view out our window of the pool and the ocean!!

Our bathroom

Our bathroom's toilet and bidet---a first for us---makes us feel very cosmopolitan! hehehe
Disney Cruise Line has also set up a little check-in desk in the lobby and so once we got our luggage dropped off at our room, we were able to go down and check in for the cruise----so we don't have to check in at the port at all...they took all our paperwork and are printing our Key to the World cards (that's your room key aboard the ship for folks who've never sailed with DCL before) and will deliver them to our room later today (they were supposed to give them to us right there, but they were having technical difficulties with their printer and so some very friendly DCL cast members were working on fixing it).  Tomorrow morning they are coming to our room to pick up the luggage we want taken to the ship and then PRESTO...we're all set.  They said at the port all we have to do is go through security and then get on the ship!

So, like I said, we're thrilled to be here and now we're going to rest for a bit and then venture out!

  4. Hi, I know I have not posted, however, I have been avidly following. Most of the time my Mom already posted everything I would say. I am glad your flight went well. You must be absolutely exhausted. It is so hard when fun vacations involve trans-Atlantic flights. It is so not fair that Disney World (not to mention Disneyland California) is over there. All we got is Disney Paris (still good, however, it is what it sounds like Disney French style)

  5. Great Hotel ... We stayed there in 2007, before our Med Disney Cruise. Great mall next door too!
