We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties.....

Just wanted to log on and give a heads up post to all my readers....apparently for some reason we can't figure out, the internet service provider that Disney Cruise Line uses to offer us our internet here on the ship has intermittently decided to block blogspot.com/blogger.com----there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how or when or why it happens...it works for a bit then is blocked...then is blocked for hours on end and magically re-appears a few hours later.  We have talked to the I.T. folks here on the ship, but it appears there is nothing they can do about it to create a permanent fix...and they also cannot explain how or why we're having the problem (but do recognize for some reason that their I.S.P. is actually blocking the blogger site).  *sigh*


So what does this mean?  It means that we may not be able to make updates here to our blog while we're still on vacation----at  least not daily/regularly (& we probably will not be able to read or respond to comments).  Never fear, we are still taking and saving pictures....and I am going to create our daily blog-posts in word format so that if we hit a window where the blog is working, I can upload them.....or, if all else fails, I will just spend a few hours once we get back stateside (there is free internet in the Orlando airport and, of course, at home) and then upload the backlog of all the posts I've been writing.

We are still going to try to figure out any alternate ways to get our blog online....so keep checking back...and keep leaving comments (we can at least view them when we get home)....BUT, if you should log in and not see any new posts...know that it does NOT mean that we are lost at sea....it means the internet on the boat stinks! LOL (And, I should mention that even though blogspot.com doesn't seem to work here consistently, our email DOES work....so you can still contact us if you need to).

OK....we're off to enjoy the rest of our sea day....and, by the way....we're still having a FANTABULOUS trip.....even with the internet headaches!! :)

  2. I seem to remember people on the DIS mentioning this. You might want to post a question to the DCL forum about a possible work-around!

  3. Had the same problem on the Baltic. It was very annoying! They told us that they added this to help alleviate some of the bandwidth problems with people using facebook, twitter and blog sites. You were limited to an hour at a time.

  5. I do know they have free wi-fi in the pier area when you are in Villefranche if you want to tote the computer with you on the tender that day. . .
    So sorry you are running into technical difficulties--that must be very frustrating.

  6. Sorry, the internet is so horrible. Luckily, it will not really ruin your trip, however, it will sadden all of us who cannot come along.
