The sun rose on another day at sea for us on our 17th cruise day....and I do mean-----HOORAY!! The sun rose on a beautiful day!
I think I mentioned in my post about our day in Madeira, Portugal that we had to cut our port day short because there were several tropical storms brewing that the captain of the ship wanted to avoid....and, to be honest, we were probably all in the same boat (pun intended!! LOL) in wanting to avoid the nasty weather and rough seas a storm might cause.......
.....but we had nothing to fear this day because this was what our balcony window revealed when we woke up:
Now, before I go any further...I should say something about our magnet of the day today. You'll notice that our magnet today says "Villains Tonight"....but if you have been reading my posts, you know that we actually saw that show on Day 16....so what's it doing on our magnet for Day 17?!? Well....we tried our best to match our magnets to what we knew was going on the cruise schedule....but you know that little fine print they always put on things that says "schedule subject to change".....well they decided to go ahead and enact that clause! LOL Sometime between when we made our magnet and they finalized their schedule, they moved the show by one day....so our magnet was off (they also moved Pirate night....so that magnet was wrong later in the cruise, as well). So when we hung our magnet today, I used a piece of paper taped on it to make it say "Villains LAST NIGHT" instead LOL:
Anyhow....if you thought yesterday's day at sea seemed leisurely....you ain't seen nothing yet. I have very little to write about for today because we didn't do all that much----which is exactly what Days at Sea are for!! *smile*
We woke up in the morning, grabbed some breakfast and went to spa to enjoy the rainforest room again. After that we spent most of the day either hanging out on deck and playing games (like bananagrams and card games) and then enjoying a few of the various activities they provided on the ship for us.
Some of the things we did today included....
...playing "Chip It Golf" in the lobby again:
...attending another origami flower class---this time learning to make tulips:
...and Jason played "Pool Golf" (trying to hit a ball from the edge of the pool into a hoop floating on the pool), too:
...we also attended the next installment in the "Desperate Shipmates" whodunit event, which was very entertaining, and joined Kimberly and Johanna and two other ladies aboard the ship as a team in a 1980's "name that tune" game (we came in second).
In the evening, we didn't have dinner in our own dining room----myself, Jason, Kimberly, Johanna, Michelle, & Jim had all made plans to eat together at Palo, the nice adults only restaurant. Dinner was awesome.....but I totally forgot to have pictures taken with our camera wearing our ties for the evening...so you'll have to be happy just seeing what we wore.....Seven Dwarves ties:
Our towel animal on this day was:
Keep the great trip reports coming! I am living the journey through you. Wish I could have been on the ship!
